PUKA PARK - NEW ZEALAND
GRAND MERCURE PUKA PARK RESTAURANT
We had great architectural bones to work with on this 1980’s timber constructed building: Massively high raked timber ceilings and spectacular views over the Pauani bay. Both domestic and international travellers alike flock to the Coromandel to reconnect with nature and take some time to chill! We literally doubled the capacity and the appeal of diners by opening up the entire front wall of the main restaurant with full height glass multi – stacking doors to the deck.
One of the most rewarding challenges was the successful conversion from what was once a dull uninviting area of the restaurant to what has now become one the most requested areas to sit for private dining and special functions. Our transformation involved a massive 10m long x 3m high backlit feature wine wall with two cosy fireplaces clad in authentic local NZ stacked stone.
